Nice read - I was just happy to hear of this one that is closer to home
...at least a few people in this country still believe in civil liberties. Take that, alarmists and neo-cons!

Yeah, I read that in the paper this morning. Bush's administration will find a way to override it.
We must find out who "they" are and deal with "them"!
Megs: I don't see a problem with that. I am liberal, but not that liberal.
Fluff: Its not an issue of "they", its an issue of addressing the actual threat rather than chasing shadows as the current administration has been doing...
A good news from Dark Angel... that's weird

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That is cool to know - I had a problem with how TN was doing the Driver's License eligibility anyway. Anyone was able to go in, show anything that had their name and a TN address on it and if they passed the written test and a overly simplified driving test they got a FULL license.Originally posted by -Dark Angel-:

In TN - having that FULL license have them the ability to vote int he State and Local elections, which isn't a right if you aren't legally within the state, much less the US. They also found out that over 35% of the licenses issued were immediately turned around and forfetied for a license in another state where they wouldn't have been able to obtain one in the first place.
After having to go through 4 years of INS BS to get my wife legal residency status and the ability for her to work within the US, it really chaffed me that people who shouldn't have been given the ability to do so was.
Don't get me wrong - I am all for diversity in this and any other country, as long as it is done legally
Actually DA, I was referencing a book my partner is reading called "Them" by Jon Ronson. In the beginning he quotes G.W. Bush...
"When I was coming up, it was a dangerous world, and you knew exactly who they were. It was us versus them, and it was clear who them was. Today, we are not so sure who they are, but we know they're there."
